What this homeless man did for his dog’s puppies deserves an applause
It is often said that dogs are man's best friend. But after hearing this story, you'll see how a man can just as likely be a dog's best friend too. Or at least this is what Emerson Aparecido de Albuquerque, a homeless man from Sao Paulo in Brazil, demonstrated.
Emerson has been living on the streets for a long time, but he has never been alone. He has always been accompanied by his loyal dog Julie. When the dog gave birth to seven little puppies, people thought it would be very difficult for Emerson to take care of them given his situation. But this particular man showed that where there's a will, there's a way.
Without a second thought Emerson decided to sell the cart he used for work to be able to afford taking the puppies to the vet. Emerson earns a small living by collecting recyclable products with his cart. After spending this money on vet bills, Emerson now makes about $18 a day "selling" the recyclable products he finds and needs around $95 to buy a new cart, which will make his work a lot easier.
Emerson spends most of his time around the Paulista Avenue in Sao Paulo carrying Julie and her puppies in a shopping cart wherever he goes. People offer him money to help support the pups, and when asked why he doesn't sell them, he responds by saying: "Never sell to a friend."
Emerson has plans to sterilize Julie soon. He has since decided to give four of the puppies away but will still have three leftover for Julie to enjoy as she will no longer be able to have anymore puppies. We wish Emerson and his extended family all the best — never lose that big heart of yours!
