Metal singer blows audience away with stirring rendition of a classic song
David Draiman is the frontman of the metal band Disturbed. But when he performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, he chose to sing something not usually associated with this particular music style. And his performance completely captivated an audience of millions.
No one had ever heard the legendary song "The Sound of Silence" by the folk duo Simon and Garfunkel performed quite like this. And it wasn't only Conan's audience who were totally blown away; Paul Simon also lavished praise on Draiman's interpretation, even posting about it on his own Facebook page. Draiman and his Disturbed bandmates probably never expected to have success in this particular genre, but apparently they have struck a chord with a new group of listeners!
